My last employment was as a conference/hotel manager for Tenbergen Hotel (B&B), self-catering Ardeco apartments & self-catering Maerua Mall apartments. Summary of role: plan and organise accommodation, catering and other hotel services; promote and market the business; manage budgets and financial plans and control expenditure; recruit, train and monitor staff; plan work schedules for individuals and teams; meet and greet customers; deal with customer complaints and comments; address problems and troubleshoot accordingly; ensure events and conferences run smoothly; supervise maintenance, supplies, renovations and furnishings; deal with contractors and suppliers; ensure security is effective; carry out inspections of property and services; ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations. Most of my office experience was gained overseas working in the finance departments of companies like Booking.com, Cisco Systems BV & ACN Europe BV. Some of my key roles was to manage a portfolio of accounts ensuring that invoices were paid in accordance with the agreed payment terms and that queries were resolved efficiently; through the development of sound working relationships both internally and externally. Perform in accordance with business policy and procedures; handle ad hoc issues and projects, whenever required.
