My main duties were isolating and growing bacterial cultures for bacteria such as e. coli, shigella, salmonella and other bacteria of medical importance. I also carried out research on how to develop whole cell inactivated candidate vaccines using different inactivation methods such as heat, formalin, ethanol and ultraviolet radiation. I also created recombinant bacteria with the aim of developing dna vaccines. Other duties involved guiding and supervising experiments of student medical docters.
