To overhaul Cat Machinery, engines, gearboxes, hydraulic system, pumps and cylinders. Overhaul engines fuel system and pumps, turbochargers. To install engine and gear boxes in vessels, align these to the propeller shaft. Install water pumps and piping. Manage people , training people on the job. Organizing field service operation for outside machinery repairs. organizing the workshop with engine , transmission, hydraulic, welding and fabrication plus general repair centers. Technical support and sale to clients like De Beers, transhex, and other big companies. Then starting and running a branch for MAN Diesel in Walvis Bay, dealing with international clients and organizing the repairs on service vessels in the oil and gas.

Did my Apprenticeship with Cat in Windhoek, plus tech college there, as Diesel fitter and Earth moving Machinery, transferred to Walvis Bay, worked on Marine engines and related Equipment, got transferred to Cape Town Branch in 1971 , became Chargehand in the workshop, then Foreman, Workshop manager, then was Service Manager, from there I took the position as technical support and engine sales. Customers like DeBeer's, Tans hex and other companies I supported with sales and technical support. Finished in 2001. Was recruited MTU South Africa for Workshop Manager and sales. I was then recruited by MAN Diesel in Cape Town to start a Branch in Walvis Bay for 5 years, dealing with international and local customers and organizing the work and service personal..
