Position : West Regional Marketing Manager

We are seeking a Business Development and Marketing Manager to join our West Region team in Seattle, WA or Oakland, CA.

MAINTAINING THE OVERVIEW

In collaboration with the COWI North America Leadership Team, the Business Development & Marketing Manager is responsible for sales and marketing activities in his/her Region to support COWI North America market goals. He/she shall participate with and support the rest of BTM and COWI in all aspects of the business.

The Business Development & Marketing Manager is also responsible for meeting market top and bottom-line goals, and for maintaining COWI's business prospects, pipeline and workload forecasting system, in his/her Region. He/she shall work collaboratively with the COWI North America Leadership Team in carrying out corporate initiatives, adopting common systems, training and coordination within COWI NA.

In addition, he/she is responsible for gaining early knowledge of opportunities in the market, as well as pitching and winning new projects through development of client relations in his/her Region and cooperating with other Regions to do the same throughout North America.

Moreover, he/she is responsible for stimulating a customer-oriented business mind-set in COWI. While being committed to ensuring the success of his/her own area of responsibility, should always prioritize the overall success of COWI.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Marketing

  • Works with the marketing staff to develop and maintain marketing information systems like the CRM database and employee CV profiles.
  • Collaborates with technical staff to produce quality proposals.
  • Manages proposal resources to meet proposal production deadlines.
  • Works with communications staff to implement external communications according to company protocols.
  • Participates in the establishment of marketing programs, policies and procedures.
  • Develops marketing resources for use in pursuit of clients and projects.
  • Drives the development and continuing improvement of COWI NA's CRM database and CRM processes.
  • Ensures the accessibility of COWI NA business development and marketing documentation including but not limited to employee CVs, project data and summaries, etc.
  • With support from management, oversees marketing projects and/or supervises junior marketing staff.
  • Performs other marketing duties as required.

Business Development

  • Serves as primary point of contact for pursuit identification and capture plan development for area of accountability.
  • Provides input to define top line targets as well and support the achievement of agreed targets.
  • Facilitates the development of relations with clearly defined current and potential customers.
  • Tracks business development leads by maintaining a thorough knowledge of the COWI NA business for pursuit opportunities.
  • Initiates, drives and facilitates input to customer relationship development plans.
  • Advises on the development and improvement of COWI NA internal systems for the collection and sharing of business development and marketing documentation.
  • Provides input to relevant professional networks on market trends.
  • Performs market research.
  • Performs other business development duties as assigned.
Required profile for job ad : West Regional Marketing Manager
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in a marketing, business development or proposal management function in a professional service firm environment.
  • Local market knowledge of clients, selection processes and information sources.
  • Strong project management and relationship building skills.
  • Knowledge of proposal process and delegation of proposal development to shared marketing staff.
  • Professional knowledge in a technical field built on an understanding of the theoretical concepts, including the underlying principles and their context.
  • Ability to take on an innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
  • The ability to handle differing kinds of tasks and situations requiring search for solutions and application of judgment within the area of expertise and acquired knowledge.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, lead and negotiate with strong personalities.
  • Dynamic personality with an ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills for effective problem resolution.
  • Excellent computer skills with Adobe Creative Suites and MS Office software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively autonomously and as a team member.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
